Maintenance
Every system installed that is designed to protect people and property must be fully maintained to ensure when it's needed, it works.
Fire & Security systems are usually required under your insurance policy or as part of your business Risk Assessment. Having an effective and regular maintenance program in place may be a legal requirement.
Planned Maintenance provision provided by FireSec will help you meet your insurance or legal requirements and ensure all your systems are kept in full working order.
At each planned visit the engineer will follow British or European Standards including industry legislation for that specific system, ensuring we test all aspects required. After each inspection our engineer will complete an Engineers Attendance Docket explaining fully what we have done, but also completing the onsite log book as required.
As part of our agreed planned visit programs you will also be covered by our 24 hour call out facility where our experienced engineers are available to attend system faults whenever they occur, and more often than not it's when you're least expecting them.
Fire Alarms
To conform to current British Standards and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order your Fire Alarm system should be fully tested and inspected by a competent person annually. Depending on the size of your system this may be split over a year into quarterly, bi annual or monthly inspections. FireSec will provide you with the correct maintenance program required for your particular system, and also ensure you are fully able to manage your system should it activate. Our engineer will carry out full tests on your system including battery backup checks and audible alarm sounder tests, all detectors and the correct operation of the system will be fully completed as required at each visit.
Weekly Fire Alarm Tests
Fire alarm tests should be carried out weekly by a responsible and competant person. Where required, FireSec can provide this service.
Emergency Lighting
These systems are as important as your Fire Alarm systems. To ensure you continue to meet your legal requirements and current British Standard guidelines whilst also taking into account your Risk Assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order all your emergency lights must be in full working order should they be needed.
Our engineer will carry out full tests on your system including battery backup checks and full illumination tests. Depending on the size and type of lighting you have in place this will affect the frequency of a planned visit.
Intruder Alarm Systems
Whether for Home Security or for businesses, it is imperative that your system has an annual maintenance program in place to ensure it is in full working order to protect you when needed and to prevent false alarms. For Intruder systems connected into an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) that could activate a Police response, they must comply with relevant Standards and ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) policy for signalling systems. To ensure you continue to meet these expectations a planned program must be in place. For local audible only alarms typically used for Home Security it is essential that your system is kept in full working order. Criminals are known to randomly target private houses and to ensure your property is fully protected and the system will activate, a regular cost effective planned maintenance program should be in place. Our engineer will carry out full tests on your system including battery backup checks and audible alarm sounder tests, all detectors and the correct operation of the whole system will be fully completed at each visit.
CCTV Systems
As more and more CCTV systems are fitted across the country, from city centres, business premises, schools to hotels and bars to private houses we must ensure when needed the system is in full working order. Each camera must provide the best possible image whilst the recording equipment is operating correctly, so when needed the highest quality images can be provided as evidence. Our CCTV Planned Maintenance programs are suited to your particular system needs. All our CCTV programs will help you get the most of your system, and ensure you meet the expectation of the Data Protection Act when recording images of people. FireSec engineers will carry out full tests on your system including correct operation of your recording equipment and resolution settings of your cameras.
Access Control Systems
Ensuring you protect and restrict access in and out of your building or to certain areas it is essential your system continues to operate at all times. Moving parts in any system such as locks and door closers will require regular testing to ensure correct operation. The expense of Access Control installations and investments made by businesses for these types of systems require that a regular planned program of maintenance is in place. Our engineer will carry out full tests on your system including battery backup checks for door locks and door controllers.
Nurse Call/ Warden Call Systems
As with all life safety systems and especially when elderly or sick people are involved Nurse Call & Warden Call Systems need to carry a Planned Maintenance program. Particular systems that generate alarms when someone needs assistance to calls being made to offsite call centres must when activated attract the correct response. From either ringing a bell, flashing a light to connecting direct speech to a caller our maintenance programs will check that correct operation is in place. Our engineer will carry out full tests on your system including battery backup checks. Remote connections and audible alarms will be fully tested and where fitted speech systems will be proved.
